The Most Powerful Mother’s Prayer for Children to the Almighty Creator

“O God! Creator of all creatures, You have made me worthy to be a mother. Your kindness has bestowed children upon me, and I can say: they are Your children! Because You gave them life, endowed them with an immortal soul, in accordance with Your will, You adopted them and accepted them into the bosom of Your Church, Lord! Preserve them in Your grace until the end of their lives; grant them to partake in the mysteries of Your covenant; sanctify them with Your truth. May Your holy name be glorified in them and through them!

Send me Your gracious assistance in their upbringing for the glory of Your name and the benefit of others! Show me all ways to achieve this goal; grant me patience and strength! Teach me to plant in their hearts the root of true wisdom – reverence for You! Illuminate them with the light of Your Wisdom! May they love You with all their soul and thoughts. Let them cling to You with all their hearts, and throughout their lives, may they seek Your words! Grant me the understanding to convince them that real life lies in keeping Your commandments, that labor strengthened by piety brings carefree satisfaction in this life, and in eternity – indescribable bliss. Open their understanding to Your Law! May they act in the sense of Your omnipresence until the end of their days!

Implant in their hearts fear and abhorrence of all lawlessness; let them be blameless in their path. May they always remember that You, O Merciful God, are a zealous guardian of law and justice! Keep them in innocence and in the utmost reverence for Your name! May they not disgrace Your Church with their behavior but live according to its precepts! Prompt them to seek useful knowledge and make them capable of all good deeds! May they gain true understanding of what their souls will seek; may they be enlightened with knowledge beneficial to humanity, Lord!

Grant me the wisdom to imprint indelible letters of caution in the minds and hearts of my children regarding associations with those who shun Your name. Inspire in them a complete aversion to any alliance with those who commit wrongdoing. May they not engage in corrupt conversations; let them not heed the words of frivolous people; may they not be led astray from Your righteous path by bad habits. May they not be tempted by the fact that sometimes those who advocate lawlessness and injustice become very wealthy in this world!

Heavenly Father! Grant me the grace to guard against enticing my children into temptation through my own actions, but constantly divert them from deceit. Correct the flaws in their behavior, tame their stubbornness, and restrain them from frivolity and recklessness. May they not be captivated by foolish intentions; may they not boast of their intelligence, and may they not forget You and Your law. May the lawlessness of this world not destroy their reason and health. Righteous Judge, who punishes children for the sins of parents to the third and fourth generations, turn away such punishment from my children. Do not punish them for my sins, but shower them with the dew of Your grace. May they flourish in virtues and holiness, growing in love for You and devout people.

Father of generosity and every mercy! Out of parental feelings, I wish to ask You for all kinds of earthly blessings for my children; I desire Your blessings upon them, but let Your holy will be with them! Arrange their destiny according to Your preference; do not deprive them of the necessities of life, send them all that is needed. Be merciful to them, even when they sin before You. Do not count their ignorance as a sin when they resist Your authority; chastise and have mercy on them, guiding them on a path pleasing to You, but do not deny them the vision of the radiance of Your holiness!

Receive their prayers with mercy, grant them success in every good endeavor. Do not turn Your face away from them in the days of their sorrow, but turn away temptations that may exceed the strength of their spirits. Shine upon them with Your boundless love; let Your angel always walk with them and preserve them from all harm and evil paths, O Merciful God! Make me a mother whose soul delights in her children; may they be my joy throughout my life and my support in the days of my old age.

Deem me worthy, with hope in Your mercy, to know that when they stand at Your Dread Judgment, I will boldly be able to say: Here I am and my children, whom You gave me, Lord! Together with them, glorifying Your boundless blessings, mercy, and eternal love, I magnify Your Most Holy Name, Our Heavenly Father, forever and ever. Amen.”
